picnic oven fried chicken
ingredients
· 3 TBSP Butter
· 1 Cup all purpose flour
· 1 tsp garlic powder
· 1 tsp seasoning salt (lawry's, etc)
· 2 tsp paprika
· 1 tsp cajun seasoning (Slap Ya mama, etc)
· 1 tsp dried thyme
· 1 tbsp dried parsley
· 3-4 lbs bone-in chicken
iNSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
2. Add butter to a 9x13 baking dish and place into oven just long enough to melt.
3. Meanwhile, whisk together the flour with the seasonings.
4. Rinse chicken pieces and dredge in flour mixture.
5. Place into the baking pan skin side up, and turn to coat.
6. Bake skin side down at 425 degrees for 35 minutes.
7. Turn and bake skin side up and bake another 25 minutes, until juices run clear and chicken is cooked through.
